Yay! You're Getting Married! - my actual response before you descend down the aisle

- Marnel Toerien

Welcome to me (I can tell you all the usual stuff but I’m sure by now you’ve heard it all!) If you want to know me on a more personal level short of meeting me, keep on reading!

  • Who inspires you? Who do you aspire to be like?

My sister (yeah.. I know). If she didn’t help me as much as she did I really probably wouldn’t be giving you this answer now. She’s determined as hell and sometimes too soft but I wouldn’t trade her for Paris (keep on reading and you’ll understand).

  • What was the last book you read without skipping through anything?

Love, Rosie.

  • Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes. Unfortunately.

  • Which would be harder for you to give up: coffee or alcohol?

Leave. The. Coffee. Alone.

  • Do you have a sweet tooth or a savory tooth?

Chocolate is an acceptable form of payment.

  • Tell me about the best vacation you’ve ever taken.

My and the boyfriend went to France and Italy together. If I could I would move to Paris without thinking about it, it’s my soul city. Even though I’ve been there before in 2005 I just had to show him how beautiful those places were! It’s also where my relationship started with H&M and Sephora (drooooool).

  • Where is your favorite place to go on a weekday afternoon when you have no plans or obligations?

My sister’s office in Woodstock. And then lunch together… and then MAKEUP SHOPPING! I kid you not, I really love it.

  • Gin, vodka, or tequila? <—–SIES!

Champagne dahling!

  • What drives you to do what you do? What motivates you?

I obviously love doing makeup. No I didn’t always want to do this, I was quite a tomboy up until 16. I love weddings so clearly I felt drawn to bridal hair and makeup. I honestly just love what I do so I never feel ‘bleh’ when I have to work, so no Monday Blues or bitchy colleagues.

  • What’s your pet peeve?

Bad Eyebrows. Sigh.

And bad makeup on wedding photos. Just invest ladies, just invest. You want to look back in 73 years time and think ‘damn, I looked amazing’.

  • Are you a dog or cat person?

Dogs. I have a baby Maltese and a big Ridgeback who still behaves as if she were a puppy.

*Disclaimer: when you come for a trial, these two love machines will probably be lying next to us in the room.
