Congratulations! I know you’re bubbling with excitement!
The question on everyone’s lips: How does this work?
-
Reach out through the CONTACT form or send an email to info@marneltoerien.co.za.
What I need to know is WHEN your date is (to check if availability), WHERE your weddding is happening (for travel cost estimates) and how MANY people?
-
We’ll send through a quote and our Terms & Conditions - don’t worry, it’s a easy-read.
Once we've nailed down a date, location, and quantities, I’ll send through your invoice with the booking fee amount required to book my services.
No booking payment, no booking. The DAY is reserved for you, meaning I cannot take on other work. You reserve me for the day, which is why the booking fee exists.
-
Once you’re booked, you’re all set. We go over logistics regrading trial dates, looks and inspiration, all the details that comes with the day.
-
Wedding day arrives! And you’re all good to go, in my hands, and I’ve got you.
We've gone over everything, the schedule is sorted, I know what I'm doing.
Easy, effortless bliss

Gurl. Early - getting four to 10 people takes TIME. I book out 2 hours for the bride for hair and makeup, and bridal party an hour to hour and a bit for hair and makeup - depending on the looks you want. Adding to that that photographers want you ready an hour or two before the wedding... so you can see we take time - and we need it so that we can do our work properly and not rush. I don't want to rush, you don't want to rush - just enjoy the day!
-
If you have a bigger bridal party yes. If you don't want to start too early and it's a booking I could've done alone, yes. If you decide to start the ceremony at 12:00 even with 4 people booked, yes. It depends on the circumstances whether one is necessary or not, so the more info you have for me, the better!
I have a team of people who I rely on and have assisted me for years, so no problem.

1. Flawless Finish: Airbrush makeup provides a flawless, photo-ready finish that appears smooth and even on camera and in person. The fine mist of makeup particles creates a natural, airbrushed look that hides imperfections and blemishes effectively, ensuring the bride looks her best throughout the wedding day.
2. Long-lasting: Brides need makeup that can withstand the long hours of their special day. Airbrush makeup is renowned for its longevity, as it is water-resistant and transfer-resistant. This ensures that the makeup remains fresh and intact, even during emotional moments, tears, or perspiration. I've seen this makeup last 15 hours through 40 degrees... nothing else lasts like this.
3. Customizable Coverage: Airbrush makeup allows for adjustable coverage levels, from sheer to full, without feeling heavy or cakey. Makeup artists can easily customize the application to suit the bride's preferences and specific skin needs, ensuring a comfortable and personalized experience.
4. Lightweight and Comfortable: Unlike traditional makeup, which can sometimes feel heavy on the skin, airbrush makeup is lightweight and comfortable to wear. You can enjoy a natural feel throughout the day without worrying about makeup melting or becoming uncomfortable.
5. Even Skin Tone: Airbrush makeup excels at achieving an even skin tone and color correction. It can effectively cover redness, discolorations, and uneven skin texture, providing a uniform canvas for the bride's overall look.
6. Hygienic Application: Airbrush makeup is applied using a specialized airbrush gun, which minimizes direct contact with the skin. This hygienic application method is especially appealing for brides concerned about the cleanliness of their makeup.
7. No Makeup Transfer: The seamless, matte finish of airbrush makeup reduces the likelihood of makeup transferring onto clothing, making it ideal for brides wearing intricate, white wedding gowns.
8. Photogenic Results: Airbrush makeup is designed to look exceptional in photographs and under various lighting conditions. Brides can confidently anticipate stunning pictures without the worry of makeup appearing too heavy or uneven in pictures.
In summary, airbrush makeup offers brides a multitude of benefits, including a flawless and long-lasting finish, customizable coverage, comfort, and photogenic results, making it a superior choice for your wedding day compared to traditional makeup.

Generally in the 2 - 8 weeks before the wedding. However I love recommending you to organize your trial with one of your last dress fittings or alterations appointment and seeing the look come together - you won't have time to oogle yourself on the day much so this gives you a chance to take it in.
If you prefer doing the trial earlier, that's fine too however I don't do more than 6 months before the wedding - you will change your mind several times and everyone will have an opinion. As the wedding prep comes to a close you have way more understanding of the look you want, what will work with your dress, the vibe of the wedding etc. Trust me on this one.
-
I do not do trial-only bookings. You’re welcome to ask as many questions as you can think of, but I cannot hold a date indefinitely.
-
Possibly - depending on the hairstyle you want, the hair you have, and the realistic picture we can create, extensions are a great way to go. You're welcome to send me pictures of your hair and what you envision so I can send recommendations.

What if you're sick? I get someone to stand in for me. Only happened once in 2017 and we can blame KFC for that one. No chicken on Fridays.
In the most unlikely scenario that I physically can do your wedding or cannot find someone to stand in for me, I refund you 100%
What if we cancel you? There's an in depth cancellation policy in the Terms and Conditions.
What if I only want you to do my bridesmaids/moms/family in law and not me anymore? If you decide to go that route that is breach of the T&C's you've agreed to, so the agreement is void and the cancellation policy is enforced.
